Gabi Veit lives and works between Italy and Switzerland. She studied graphic design in Innsbruck and Venice, and then later in life studied jewellery in Florence. Her work celebrates the rough and jagged shapes and outlines of her home’s rocks and mountains.
For some time now she has been passionately engaged with spoons. Each bowl and handle borrow unusual shapes from plant life, surprising the beholder with sharp thorns and delicate petals. Each piece is crafted from solid silver, oxidised to a dark, mysterious grey. They are truly unique: the mould of each spoon is destroyed after casting. No piece will ever be repeated.
