Denis Polge

Denis Polge is an independent artist based between Paris and the south of France. Having studied film and philosophy, he trained at the National School of Advanced Study in the Arts in Paris.

His vases are made of stoneware, glazed on the inside, and burned in the kiln at 1210 degrees Celsius. He paints each one with a paint he makes himself: the grainy aspect of the paint reinforces the matte surface which is coated in a very light, matte varnish for protection. The flattened shape simplifies the vases’ form, so that the visual is mostly about colour.

His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums across the world.
